The Trajectory of a Cannonball

The graph below shows two possible trajectories for a cannonball. The dotted red line shows the trajectory when the angle of elevation of the cannon (the angle it is raised above the horizontal) is 45 degrees. The blue line shows the trajectory for a different angle of elevation, which you can specify in the box next to Angle of elevation below.

To change the trajectories, enter different values for the angle of elevation and muzzle velocity below and click Plot trajectories.

Angle of elevation (between 0 and 90 degrees):
